Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road crash on the Inverness to Ullapool road this (Sunday) morning.
A red Honda motorcycle and a white Volvo XC70 collided just north of Garve.
The 52-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital, in Inverness, with serious injuries, where he later died.
The driver and passenger of the Volvo were uninjured.
Sergeant David Miller of the road policing team based at Dingwall said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“We are appealing to anyone with further information or dashcam footage to contact us.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1135 of 15 May.”
The road was closed until 2pm as specialist police investigators assessed the scene.
Motorists including Stornoway ferry traffic were diverted on the 86-mile coastal road via Gairloch and Poolewe.
