Sales of a scenic Lewis and Harris walk guide have raised £1,700 for charity.

The money was split between Stornoway RNLI and Highland Hospice.

The booklet, titled ‘Hebridean Adventures,’ was produced by Ken and Seumas Kennedy, describing 11 walks which they, their family and friends have enjoyed in the mountains and glens of the island for many years.

Seumas said: “We chose RNLI Stornoway because we know how invaluable the institution is to water sports’ enthusiasts and the Highland Hospice because of its amazing contribution to so many families from the islands and Highlands.”

Describing 11 walks in Harris and Lewis from rambles in Aline Community Woodland to the Glen Skeaudale horseshoe and of course An Cliseam, ‘Hebridean Adventures’ is a practical guide.

It also entertains readers with encouragement to picnic in the wilds, paddle in hidden saltwater pools or conquer scrambling terrain.
