Driver taken to hospital after vehicle crashes into house on Lewis

Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision at South Galson in the north of Lewis.

A van appears to have struck two parked cars before colliding with a cottage say police.

The male driver of the vehicle involved has been taken to Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway to be checked over.

Nobody else was injured during the incident.

The A857 road was blocked for a period.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said they were alerted to the incident at 7.05am.
