Shooglenifty, the Celtic fusion band with Uist connections, are among the latest to show their support for Uist Wind.
The community share offer run by North Uist Development Company (NUDC) aims to build two turbines in North Uist.
The development to be located by Clachan is expected to generate £2.33 million in profit for the local community over the next 22 years, providing an average annual income of £105,000.
Members of the public can buy shares in the project.
Investors can earn a 4% annual return in the scheme.
So far the project has raised 75% per cent of its £350,000 target.
NUDC chair Mustapha Hocine said the body is “fortunate” by being able to extend its deadline.
He added: “Although £350,00 is our minimum and is now in sight, the more we raise from the share offer, the more profitable this project will be for our community – so it is really important that we keep pushing the share offer.
“Although much of the investment so far has come from the local community – and it is great to see that Uist is getting behind this project – you don’t have to be local to invest.
“The four per cent annual return offered by this project is available to anybody who makes an investment, no matter where they are from.”
