Three generations take part in wreath laying ceremony
11 November 2024
Three generations of the same family laid wreaths at Carloway War Memorial on Remembrance
Sunday.
Many in the community attended a joint church service led by Rev Thomas Davis where
neighbouring congregations of the Free Church and Church of Scotland gathered together.
Afterwards they made their way to the local war memorial beside the church.
Amongst the group laying wreaths were Colin Macleod of Garenin who represented Carloway
district, his daughter Kathryn Macarthur and grandson, Christopher. Kathryn - who
stays in Upper Carloway - laid a wreath on behalf of Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar while
Christopher placed a wreath for Sgoil Shiaboist.
