The £14.3 million redevelopment of Tarbert ferry terminal is making good progress following the 12-
Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL), which owns the ferry terminal and is managing the overall upgrade project, has announced that the harbour project is making steady progress while maintaining Covid safety measures.
Key project milestones include demolition of the old ticket office and installing a temporary terminal building, where Cal Mac is now operating from.
Demolition of the old pier is ongoing and the new one is being built.
Temporary fenders have been put in place to allow vessels to berth throughout the construction period.
Pontoons have been put back to the adjacent yacht marina as the extensive seabed dredging is now complete.
Land has been reclaimed with infill to create an additional marshalling area for vehicles while essential services are being installed.
