Vandals targetted the waterwheel in the Lews Castle Grounds earlier.
Police Scotland has appealed for information about the incident which occurred around 5pm on 6 October.
The bus shelter at Stornoway bus station was vandalised overnight last Friday.
Anybody with any information relating to either incident is asked to contact Stornoway Police Station on 101.
