Stornoway swimming pool reopens

The swimming pool at Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais in Stornoway is to reopen after being closed for repairs all this month as a result of damaged floor tiles.

Further damage was found after assessment.

Pool activities such as swimming lessons, aquafit classes and private bookings were cancelled.

Repairs have been completed and the pool refilled.

Following the successful completion of water testing this week, the swimming pool will re-open to the public from this (Friday) morning.

A comhairle spokesperson said: “The pool was refilled and brought back up to temperature at the end of last week and testing began on Monday morning.

“Clear results have now been received, allowing the pool to safely re-open to the public.”
