The Stornoway Primary has been temporarily closed as a precautionary measure after a confirmed case of Covid-19 was linked to the school.
The nursery and the school are shut for the rest of this week.
Due to the circumstances of the Covid-19 case, it impacts on key aspects of the operation of both the school and nursery on Thursday and Friday.
All staff except those needed to staff the key worker hub will work from home to provide remote learning to pupils not attending.
However, the childcare centre on campus is not affected and will operate as usual.
Further information will be provided to parents on Thursday about arrangements for the remainder of this week and for reopening next week.
The council said provision will continue to be made at the school for the children of critical key workers.
Any key workers urgently requiring to use the school or nursery on Thursday should register at the front entrance at 9am.
Meals will be provided for any pupils attending and meals provided to partner nurseries from the Stornoway Primary kitchen will continue to be delivered
School transport for Stornoway Primary will not operate but will be replaced by an on-demand service for any key workers requiring it via contact with the Education Resources office via the main council number 01851 600501.
