Stornoway Post Office temporarily shuts after burst water pipe causes flood

Stornoway Post Office had to temporarily shut today after flooding within the premises today (Wednesday).

The facility plans to reopen when it is safe to do so.  

A Post Office spokesperson said: “Stornoway Post Office is temporarily closed due to flooding caused by a burst water pipe, which was discovered this morning (Wednesday).

“It is not yet known when the branch can re-open as the electrics for the premises need to be checked.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“Alternative branches in the area are Newton and Cearns.”
