MV Loch Seaforth returned to her berth in Stornoway because of a medical emergency onboard this morning.
The vessel was navigating three miles out from the Arnish lighthouse when her skipper circled to starboard, docking at number three pier at 7.55am.
She let go her ropes to ease off the pier again at 8.40am.
Her arrival time at Ullapool is 11.19am.
CalMac said the Citylink bus at the Wester Ross port will wait for delayed foot passengers.
The knock-on delay means the ship is running 95 minutes late.
