A spell of wild weather is on course to batter the Western Isles on Wednesday.
Travel disruption is expected on west coast sea routes given the adverse forecast.
Wind speeds are due to strengthen from tonight (Tuesday), reaching storm force tomorrow as a new low pressure system approaches from the Atlantic bringing strong southeasterly winds.
The stormy weather will track over much of Scotland.
