Actor Jane McCarry, best known for her role as Isa in the popular BBC comedy, ‘Still Game’ will formally launch the comhairle annual winter safety initiative.

She joins sitcom co-star Mark Cox - who plays the miserable character of Tam Mullen -for the launch event in Barra next week.

Paul Steele, leader of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, commented: “The overarching message of this guidance is one of taking a few simple, planned steps now that will make things easier, and crucially a lot safer for you, your loved ones, and those within your wider community, throughout the coming winter months.

“I would like to extend a special thanks to Jane McCarry for giving free of her time to launch our 2024 – 2025 campaign.”
