Sir E Scott School has enjoyed a very successful Mòd, with the choirs and pupils amassing a long list of competition wins.

 

Conducted by Jayne Macdonald, both choirs retained the majority of trophies they won last year in Paisley.

 

The secondary school choir secured two out of three titles in the 13- 18 year-old main children’s events in Oban.

 

In the under 13s choral competition, Sgoil Sir E Scott primary school choir took the Mrs Schroder Cup for first place in the Choral Puirt-à-Beul competition and claimed the Mrs Ann Grant of Laggan Memorial Trophy for winning the Choral Harmony event. They received second prize in the unison contest for their age group.  

 

The juniors also received the Susan Paterson Caledonian MacBrayne Trophy as the highest achievers across all categories in their section.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Senior pupils won the unison and the harmony competitions. The Mrs Campbell Blair Trophy and the Angus M Ross Trophy for the highest marks in Gaelic in the unison event were presented to the school. The choir was also runner-up in the Puirt à Beul event.

 

In addition, they hit the top marks across the various choir events to be awarded the Janet Kelly Brown (Uist) Trophy, the Heather K Moore Cup, the Rev Archie M Beaton Trophy and the Sangobeg Prize.
