Stormy conditions will coincide with one of the highest tides of the month.
A force nine severe gale, touching storm level for a period, is forecast for Sunday morning as an Atlantic front moving across the Hebrides brings wild seas, strong southerly gusts, and heavy rain.
The gale is expected to clear over Sunday afternoon but it will remain blustery into Monday.
Big waves along the coastline for island communities can be expected said the Met Office.
The highest waves will probably be off the Hebrides’ west coast on Monday.
