Proceeds from a raffle and other income from the events added up to £1,770 which was split between Alzheimer Scotland (Lewis and Harris) and Western Isles Association for Mental Health.
Alzheimer Scotland (Lewis and Harris Services) and the Dementia Resource Centre based at the recently opened Taigh Shiphoirt Care Home in Stornoway, aim to support people with dementia, their families, relatives and friends at any stage of the illness.
Support comprising information and advice, digital information and awareness sessions, digital activities for people with dementia and carers, and digital carer and peer support groups is provided alongside day care facilities at Taigh Shiphoirt.
The day care facilities are set in a safe comfortable environment in which a wide range of activities and opportunities that are tailored to meet individual interests are offered.
They provide an opportunity to socialise and help people to maintain their independence and pursue interests and hobbies. Carers also benefit from time to themselves while the person they care for attends day care.

As part of their service provision, they run the Catch 23 Drop-

The reunion organising committee thanked all those who attended the reunion events for their generosity and recently handed over cheques for £885 to each of the charities.
