Photos taken seven years apart show school pupils in one island primary growing up.

The very first cohort of children enrolling in the then brand new Sgoil an Rubha have now transferred to secondary school.

Photographs snapped when they were five years old and starting P1 were recreated during their final days in primary.

Principal teacher Anne Macphail said: “We were quite apprehensive about all coming together from Knock, Bayble and Aird (schools). We were all used to our wee school but I don't think any of us would look back.

“We were all so excited to get a brand new school. It was a very happy day.”

Community wind farm charity Point and Sandwick Trust, arranged the new set of images and also awarded £250 towards a farewell party for the youngsters.

General manager Donald John MacSween: “It’s hard to believe it’s seven years since the new facility at Sgoil an Rubha was opened and it’s great to see these new photos of the children which recreate the ones taken when they were in P1.”
