Ceitlin Smith of Ness,Lewis, and Ruairidh Cormack, Skye, won the Traditional Gold medals at the Royal National Mòd.

Ceitlin - whose uncle Norman Smith won the same medal at the last Oban Mod - also sings with girl band, Gria. She didn’t expected to win against tough competition but her polished renderings of Carson a' bhios Sinn Muladach and  Marbhrann do Mhacleoid gave her the edge in the final.
