Hebridean Way Route Development Officer

Outer Hebrides Tourism

£27k pro rata (3 days/week), fixed term contract for 18 months

Do you have a passion for the outdoors, and

· Are familiar the Hebridean Way and other long-distance walking or cycling routes?

· Have experience of developing and managing infrastructure and interpretation, especially in remote areas?

· Skilled in using technology, responding to customer feedback, and working in partnership with others to get things done?

· Understand policies governing long-distance routes such as CDM regulations, funding schemes, the Outdoor Access Code and what qualifies as a Great Trail in Scotland?

You might be the person that Outer Hebrides Tourism are looking for to develop and improve the Hebridean Way walking and cycling routes to ensure the best possible visitor experience.

The postholder will also be involved in the establishment of the Outer Hebrides Countryside Trust.

Funded by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Natural Heritage, the post will focus on the development of the infrastructure and user experience relating to the Hebridean Way walking and cycling routes.

Location – Outer Hebrides, exact location to be agreed with the successful applicant
