Rev Iain Smith of the Free Church Continuing has retired.
The 70-year-old native of Point, Lewis, was ordained and inducted as minister of Partick Free Church in 1994.
After nine years in Glasgow he accepted a call to the Hobart (Tasmania) congregation of the Southern Presbyterian Church in Australia, ministering there for twelve years.
Upon returning to Scotland Mr Smith applied to be a minister of the Free Church (Continuing) once again, and was received by the Commission of Assembly in 2015.
He subsequently accepted a call to Harris, being inducted in May 2016.
Having enjoyed a little over four years of settled ministry, the congregation marked the retirement of their pastor when they met in their place of worship in Northton village for their prayer meeting on 23 September.
Rev. Raymond Kemp, Minister of Scalpay and Interim Moderator of Harris, conducted worship, and afterwards presentations were made to Mr Smith and his wife Mary, who now reside in Lewis.
