A multinational firm is looking to recruit dozens of islanders for computer based homeworking jobs.
Increased connectivity through the superfast broadband rollout means that can now offer their skills to the world.
Sykes is creating up to 100 new homeworking jobs across the Highlands and islands.
The company plans to be in the Outer Hebrides as it seeks to hire people with customer care skills.
The majority of positions are on permanent contracts -
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has been working with the firm to support their investment in the region.
Rachel Mackenzie, HIE’s area manager for the Western Isles, said: “With improving broadband connectivity in local towns and villages, and an excellent skills base here, these jobs could appeal to many local people who want the flexibility of working from home.”
