The consultants undertaking a review of Royal Bank closures are visiting Barra today.

Castlebay is included in a list of ten Royal Bank of Scotland branches facing the axe.

A mobile van would serve Barra instead.

Closure has been postponed pending the outcome of a report by Johnston Carmichael.

As part of its consultation, members of the review team visited the branch in person today to meet individual customers and employees.

Feedback is sought on the services offered by the branch, how that would change if they it shut and how that would affect individuals.

Written views and submissions should be sent to the firm by 5pm on Tuesday 14 August.

Johnston Carmichael will submit its report to the Royal Bank of Scotland in September.
