Luke Johnson of Harris won the traditional singing competition for boys aged under 13 years.

The Nicolson Institute choir is having a very successful Mod, winning a raft of main competitions - two part harmony, puirt a beul and unison singing. They were also presented with trophies for excellence in Gaelic and music.

Aimee Macleod of Lochs won first prize in the girls’ traditional singing event for her age group at the Royal national Mod in Glasgow.

Anna Macleod of Harris was awarded third place in the girl’s silver medal competition for 13-15 years.

Lilia Macdonald of Back was the winner of the prescribed song competition for girls aged eight years. Her sister, Elise, was fourth in the 5-6 years event.

Tormod Macleod of Sgoil nan Loch won a bronze badge in the prescribed singing competition.
