Police have urged motorists to park responsibility in Stornoway town centre following a rise in complaints from members of the public.

Car owners parking on double yellow lines are causing issues.

Western Isles Police also highlight illegal parking pedestrian precincts in the town, especially at Point Street.

Police said: “We would urge people to comply with the parking regulations and restrictions in place.”

Motorists are urged not to “enter the pedestrianised area on Point Street between 10.30am and 6pm, unless you have a permit to do so.”

People are asked to “please park responsibly with consideration for the needs of the local community and other road users.

“Officers will continue to monitor the situation and will take action when appropriate.”
