Photos: Skye ferry harbour construction works

A new linkspan for CalMac ferry pier in Uig, Skye, has been installed.

Commissioning and load testing of the structure was completed on Tuesday.

Harbour redevelopment works are being undertaken by contractor RJ McLeod,

Heavy-lift crane ship, MV Lara 1, positioned components in place. The vessel, formerly named the Mersey Mammoth, later neighboured MV Lord of the Isles in Liverpool.

Operated by Dutch firm, Hapo, the Panama-flagged Lara 1 can lift up to 250 tonnes.
