The Peacocks fashion chain is counting down the days until it reopens in Stornoway alongside a brand new Bonmarché concession.

The sister retail businesses are joining up to move into the recently M&Co premises in the town.

The grand opening is set for 9am on Thursday 1 June, just three weeks away.

Around 15 personnel have been hired across both shops and many of them are familiar faces from M&Co.

Rachel Mackay who has been appointed store manager said staff are “very excited” with the news.

“We just can’t wait to get open and welcome everyone in.”

Former customers are constantly asking about Peacock’s plans after a two year absence so “people are looking forward to their return which will be good for the town,” she added.

Shopfiitters are presently refitting the premises and will erect new signage with the each shop’s logo and branding later this month.

A Peackcock sign will feature on the Cromwell Street entrance while Bonmarché will have their branding on the Kenneth Street door.  

Within the store customers can uses the stairs to move about both floors.

Peacocks which has secured a lease of the building previously operated in Stornoway within the Macaulay Road Co-op supermarket until two years ago.  

The company said it will offer quality, affordable fashion across womenswear, menswear and kidswear.

The first floor will be occupied by Bonmarché which specialises in ladies’ fashion.
