A new minister from Lewis has been licensed by the Free Church Continuing.
Thomas Budgen is now eligible for a call from a congregation.
He was licensed to preach by the denomination’s Outer Hebrides presbytery.
Mr Budgen is originally from England and trained as a lawyer.
He lives in Back, Lewis, with his wife Eileen and their son Ewan.
Mr Budgen, who is a member of the Stornoway congregation, recently completed three years of study in the Free Church Continuing seminary in Inverness.
The licensing service in service in Stornoway Free Church Continuing was conducted by presbytery moderator, Rev Kenneth Macdonald, who preached on the words,“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2).
Following the licensing, Rev Budgen was given suitable counsel by the moderator, and the members of presbytery gave him the right hand of fellowship.
