MV Loch Seaforth weather bound

14 December 2022

A heavy swell on her route has ruled out the chances of the Stornoway ferry leaving Ullapool today (Wednesday)

The vessel intended to attempt a crossing this evening after being tied up for most of the day.

Northerly winds whipped up five metre high waves leading CalMac to cancel sailings.

The overnight freight runs will not operate and Thursday’s 7am departure from Stornoway is also cancelled.

Service is expected to resume as normal from Ullapool at 10.30am tomorrow (Thursday) though the middle part of the sailing may be bumpy.
