Hebrides News

Tarbert ferry services are cancelled for the next few days as MV Hebrides is placed on a different route.

The Hebrides will cover the Oban - Castlebay run on Saturday. She is also operating the Tiree service this weekend. Barra has received a very patchy ferry service this month due to gales and a lack of ships.

MV Lord of the Isles (Loti) will fill-in on the Lochmaddy - Skye link.

No suitable replacement ferry is available for Tarbert. The Loti “cannot operate to the current pier structure,” said Cal Mac.

Harris ferry traffic is being diverted via Stornoway and Ullapool or via Berneray and Lochmaddy. Passengers with existing reservations are being contacted said the shipping firm.

The Hebrides is expected to be off station until Tuesday at least. It could be longer.
