The conversion of a ruined building on Eriskay has won an award from the Glasgow Institute of Architects.
Bard, an architectural practice with strong island roots, created a modern bothy suitable for overnight stays on the site overlooking Princes Beach.
The Laverty family who commissioned the project also receive an award in the Client of the Year category.
The bothy was built by local contractor Paul Macinnes of Coastal Homes who lives a short distance away. Judges recognised the contribution of the skilled local trades in the successful outcome of the project.
Architect Ruairidh Moir commented: “This is our first award as a practice and we are delighted for it to be given to Taigh Bainne, which has been a pleasure to be a part of. The process has created an outcome beyond all expectations, and we are also delighted for our clients to be recognised as well.”
