SS Metagama commemoration event in Ness

Sgoil Lionail will host the second in a series of events to commemorate one hundred years since SS Metagama sailed with Canada-bound emigrants from Stornoway in April 1923.

The event will take place at Spòrsnis on Thursday 23rd March.

Pupils from the Ness area will showcase their acting, singing and musical skills in what promises to be a memorable evening.

Dòmhnall Uilleam ‘Ryno’ Morrison wrote the script and will also take to the stage in the role of ‘seanchaidh’.

The event is free to attend but a silver collection for Bethesda Hospice will be at the door.
