Two ill cruise liner passengers received treatment at the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway.

The casualties were taken off the MV Corinthian after her arrival in the port yesterday.

The pair became ill in unrelated incidents during an overnight sailing from Castlebay.

Members of Stornoway coastguard rescue team transferred them from number three pier to the hospital’s accident and emergency department.

The Corinthian sails on a regular round Britain and Ireland cruise with the Western Isles one of her passengers’ favourite destinations.
