Machine Operator – North Uist   

 

Uist Asco, located about five miles from Lochmaddy on North Uist, is a seaweed processor that has been drying seaweeds since 2014.  This region of Scotland has a long and proud history of harvesting seaweed and creating jobs and economic growth from this renewable marine resource.   

 

The Role:

The Uist Asco Production Team is seeking a positive, dependable, results-driven Machine Operator to support our production facility in North Uist.  This is a full-time hourly position.  It is a great opportunity for a local candidate who enjoys working with their hands and who would like to gain experience in a manufacturing setting while working with a world-leading organisation. Sound like you?

As the ideal candidate for this role, you are positive and motivated with an ability to work as a part of a team and deliver on objectives.  You’re also a problem-solver and can easily adapt to change.

 

The Key Technical Responsibilities:  

The Machine Operator is responsible for all aspects of running the processing plant. They are also responsible for repairing, maintaining and doing special projects.

Ultimately, the Machine Operator works with the production team to ensure efficient running of the process and maintain minimum downtime.
