The first Embraer 145 Jet to operate the Glasgow to Stornoway air route took to the skies yesterday, carrying 23 passengers and four crew.

 

The 49-seat plane will cut nine minutes off a flight between the Western Isles and Glasgow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Piloted by Captain Neil McHugh and First Officer Hunter Mercer, the aircraft landed into Stornoway at 3.55pm before departing again at 4.30pm.

 

Each passenger was welcomed onboard by crew members Heidi Horrocks and Helen McGrath.

 

The aircraft will initially be used on the afternoon and evening rotations between Glasgow and Stornoway for the next two weeks and then utilised across the schedule.

 

At weekends, it will operate between Benbecula and Glasgow.
