Loganair is offering travellers a snap 5% discount on flights as a goodwill gesture following a 24-hour online booking outage.  Airport check-ins were also affected.

But the deal is very shortlived and expires at 10am tomorrow (Thursday).

People have to use code FLY5 when booking to receive the discount.

Unfortunately, islanders were unable to use their Air Discount Card (ADS) this morning with ADS log-ins being rejected despite Loganair maintaining all systems were “fully operational.”

Island Resident Cards were also impacted.

For urgent on-the-day travel requirements people were asked to get in touch with its contact centre directly.

Loganair told Hebrides News the ADS system is now fully operational.

The firm extended its “thanks to all customers for their patience and understanding during this period.”

Computer systems at Loganair were hit by a global outage early on Tuesday morning which affected several airlines.

People encountered difficulties trying to make bookings across its website, app and contact centre.

Passengers had to be checked-in manually across all Loganair airports.

The cause of the outage was fixed by this morning but airline staff were are still catching up following the outage, said the firm as it asked for travellers “ongoing patience and understanding.

To ensure a “smooth operational transition,” passengers were still being checked-in manually today at all Loganair airports.

Travellers were still advised to arrive at the airport with plenty of time. Loganair check-in desks are remaining open all day, for all flights.
