Alice Macmillan from Lewis has won the An Comunn Gàidhealach Gold Medal at the Royal National Mòd in Oban.

The win makes it a double for the 24-year-old from Point who won the Traditional Gold Medal two years ago at the Mòd in Perth.

The men’s competition was won by Ryan Johnston from Islay.

Julie-Anne NicPhàidein of Oban was second in the ladies competition. Kirsty Watt from Stornoway took took third placing while Claire Frances NicNìll of Barra was fourth.   

Runners-up in the men’s event were Iain Morse of Aberdeen and Pàdraig Mac a' Phearsain from Inverness.
