Photos: Lewis carnival draws the crowds
5 August 2018
Thousands of spectators lined the streets as the annual Lewis Carnival parade wound its way through Stornoway town centre on Saturday.
The procession set off from Willowglen to North Beach Street at lunchtime.
Sideshows, stalls and and attractions in Perceval Square were popular with plenty of children's activities on offer.
Spells of drizzle diluted the crowds failed to dampen children’s spirits as they enjoyed the fun and vibe around the colourful event.
The covered rides at the adjacent fair were also busy.
Money raised from this year’s carnival is being split between Action for Children and Western Isles Women’s Aid.
