Coastguards rescued an injured woman who fell on a coastal path by Shawbost shore on the west coast of Lewis.

The middle-aged casualty could not walk and she was in a location inaccessible for an ambulance.

The alarm was raised shortly after 11am during stormy weather on Saturday.

Ness, Bragar and Breasclete coastguard rescue teams stretchered her to the roadway.

She was taken to the Stornoway hospital by ambulance for treatment.
