Historical society grants 28/9/14
Western Isles Council awarded over £14,000 of grants to historical societies across the islands last year.
Additional funding for the bodies may also come from councillors’ ward priority fund or other budgets.
The groups which received grants are: Berneray Historical Society £350; Carloway £964; Commann Eachdraidh Uig £1,338; Commun Eachdraidh Barbhas/Bhru £500; Commun Eachdraich Bhearnaraidh £1,8500; Commn Eachdraidh Na Pairc £500; Commun Eachdraidh Nis £1,765; Comunn Eachdraidh Uibhist A Deas £2,000; Commun Eachdraidh Uibhist Tuath £500; Kinloch Historical Society £1,235; North Lochs Historical Society £350; North Tolsta Historical Society £686 and Taigh Chearsabhagh Trust £1,500.
