Hebrides News

Higher than predicted sea levels were experienced around the Western Isles this morning.

The highest tide of the month kept rising due to low pressure associated with the current bad weather.

Environment agency Sepa has issued a flood alert for the Hebrides due to a combination of the high tides along with a large storm surge, and westerly winds which may particularly affect the west facing causeways and shores in Uist.
