The Scotland football squad has teamed up with world-
Harris Tweed Hebrides of Shawbost, Lewis, and Edinburgh fashion house Walker Slater were commissioned by the SFA to produce a range of jackets and accessories.
The tweed, woven locally for the Shawbost mill, uses a design which combines the dark blue of the Scotland jersey with the sky blue of the Saltire.
National coach Gordon Strachan and the Scotland squad declared the new range a winner after being fitted out with their official Harris Tweed jackets.
Gordon Strachan said: “The Scotland fans arrive at games dressed for the occasion and now we will be able to do the same, through Harris Tweed. It is really smart and it will help bring us all together, players and fans alike.”
Brian Wilson, chairman of Harris Tweed Hebrides, said: “It’s a great partnership which links the national team to Scotland’s most iconic fabric. The idea was to produce something both Scottish and stylish which works both for players and supporters.”

Scotland's national coach Gordon Strachan and team captain Scott Brown are delighted with the the new Harris Tweed Hebrides range.
Scotland captain, Scott Brown, said: “The players all like this outfit and will enjoy wearing it. It looks great and is a lot more casual than what we are normally asked to wear. Everyone is looking for something classy and distinctive so I think Harris Tweed is a good fit for the Scotland national team.”

Paul Walker, the tailoring firm’s managing director, said that they were proud to have worked with the SFA and Harris Tweed Hebrides to create “a classic but edgy collection.”
