Harris Distillery triumphs at Scottish Whisky Awards

Isle of Harris Distillery has racked up a series of successes at the Scottish Whisky Awards 2024.

This recognition includes the achievements of both Newcomer of the Year and Product Launch of the Year for the distillery’s inaugural single malt, The Hearach.

The business has also taken home the crowning achievement of the evening, awarded the title Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year for 2024.

These awards mark a significant milestone in the distillery’s journey. After years of patient craftsmanship and dedication, The Hearach has been met with wonderful acclaim within the industry.

Competing against some of the finest whiskies in the world, these honours reaffirm the quality of this long-awaited spirit and the skill of the island-born team who brought it to life.

The distillery was commended for leading with vision, and a commitment to community and local partnerships with a culture of people first. This is not the first time the distillery has been celebrated for its excellence.

Isle of Harris Distillery was previously awarded Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Gin Awards in both 2018 and 2021, demonstrating its commitment to producing spirits of the highest quality.

The Hearach’s success at the Scottish Whisky Awards 2024 join a growing list of accolades this year, including the International Spirits Challenge 2024, San Francisco Spirits Awards 2024, and a gold medal at the London Spirits Competition 2024 that further cement The Hearach as a standout whisky on the global stage.
