The Greenpeace vessel MV Esperanza sought shelter in Stornoway harbour this morning giving her crew and team of research scientists a break ashore.
The vessel left her berth at No 3 pier and moored at Arnish around 5.50pm.
The ship is on an expedition in the North East Atlantic to document deep sea fisheries.
A Greenpeace spokesperson said: “This deep sea fishery is particularly destructive, and is the perfect example of the bad fisheries management allowed by the Common Fisheries Policy, to be reviewed this year.”
