Plans to develop a food tourism strategy for the Outer Hebrides have been awarded £5000 from the Scottish Government.

The funding will help promote Western Isles sourced food and drink to visitors.

The cash from the Regional Food Fund supports growth in Scotland's regional food and drink sector.

Around 47% of tourists to the islands say enjoying local food and drink is one of the highlights of their visit.

Developing initiatives to showcase the best of local produce aims to boost this experience whilst supporting local producers and hospitality businesses.
