Flags at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s offices in Stornoway and Balivanich Offices will fly at half-mast today (Tuesday) and tomorrow to mark the funeral of former First Minister, Alex Salmond.

Comhairle convenor, Kenny Macleod, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Alex Salmond at this time.

“In his career as a political campaigner, elected representative and First Minister Alex Salmond played a major role in shaping Scottish and UK politics.

“He leaves behind a significant legacy that will be remembered and referenced for years to come.”
