The Union Flag have been raised in the main centres across the Western Isles to mark coronation weekend.
Flags were hoisted in Castlebay, Balivanich and Tarbert.
Annie Macsween, a deputy Lord Lieutenant of the Western Isles,along with comhairle convenor, Kenny Macleod, led a ceremony in Stornoway town centre attended by around 200 people on Friday evening.
Lewis and Harris Youth Pipe Band and Lewis and Harris Youth Concert Band played at the event.
Speeches were conducted in Gaelic and English.
Comhairle convenor Kenny Macleod said: “A range of events are taking place across the Western Isles to celebrate this historic time and I hope that people enjoy the proceedings.
“This coronation is not just a historic event, not just a celebration, not just a display of respect and affection for our new King and Queen, although it is all those things.
It is an opportunity, through the Coronation Big Help Out, to thank all the volunteers who give so much fir their local communities. I would like to add my thanks for all they do.
“I would also like to again congratulate the Western Isles Coronation Champions, Mary Duff and Charlie Nicolson..”
He added: “On behalf of the people of the Western Isles, it is a honourto convey our best wishes of good health and prosperity to King Charles and Queen Camilla.
“Guidhe gach soirbheachas dhuibh sam àm ri teachd.”
Annie Macsween, deputy Lord Lieutenant of the Western Isles, was deputising for Lord-Lieutenant Iain Macaulay who was in London for the coronation.
Mrs Macsween read out a message from the new king and queen: “Both my wife and I are enormously grateful to all the communities, families, neighbours and friends who are coming together across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth to mark our coronation.
“We greatly appreciate everyone’s efforts to organise such celebrations, and very much hope that they will be enjoyable and happy occasions.
“As we towards the future, we feel deeply touched and sustained by the heartfelt good wishes and support of so many kind people around the country.”
