South Uist cyclist Kerry MacPhee has won silver at the International Island Games, the first medal for the Western Isles in this year’s competition.
Kerry said the mountain bike competition was hard going.
Her sister, Kirsty, who won the event in the Gotland Games in 2017 was placed 10th.
Both were up against some serious rivals with the gold medal winner, Nuria Bosch Picó, being the Spanish champion.
Their next races are the team events on Thursday.
In the women’s football, the Western Isles team are through to the semi-finals after another high result in their second game of the competitions.
The Hebrideans knocked the hosts, Guernsey, out of the event with a 6-0 score.
On Sunday, they clinched their match against Ynys Môn with a six goal lead.
With 12 goals under their belt and conceding none, the Western Isles are the top scorers so far in the competitions.
