Ferry services face another day of disruption as wild weather impacts the Western Isles today (Saturday).

Due to adverse forecast, the first timetabled return sailings on the Sound of Barra are cancelled. A review will take on Saturday morning for other sailings.

MV Isle of Lewis’ next scheduled sailing on Sunday has been placed on yellow alert.

Relief vessel, MV Hebridean Isles, will not venture out on Saturday  and her Sunday sailings are liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.

The Skye triangle service will run an hour behind schedule over Saturday with the first sailing departing Lochmaddy at 8.30am, weather permitting.

MV Loch Seaforth remained in Stornoway harbour last night with freight and passenger services cancelled until at least lunchtime today.  

Sound of Harris passengers are strongly advised to take Saturday’s ferry due to expected worsening weather for Sunday.
