Ferry passengers asked to travel ahead of adverse weather

13 January 2025

South Uist travellers planning a ferry trip over the coming two days are advised to catch today’s sailings ahead of a forecast midweek gale.

Due to previous weather cancellations MV Isle of Mull plans to operate a service for South Uist on Tuesday.

The vessel will depart Lochboisdale at 6.45am for Oban, and sail back in the afternoon.

With potential for gale force winds to cause weather disruption on Wednesday, passengers are asked to consider travel today where possible. Any livestock travelling will be on a case by case basis.

CalMac said sailings remain liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice due to adverse weather
