Forecasts of a southerly gale and rough seas will impact Western Isles ferry sailings
over Thursday and Friday.
Wind speeds are strengthening to potentially severe gale levels with gusts over 50mph
expected.
Potential disruption for today includes both inter-island crossings.
MV Loch Seaforth’s last sailing until the gale clears is today’s lunchtime departure
from Stornoway. All runs include the freight service will be cancelled until mid-morning
Friday from Ullapool. Due to sea conditions, livestock and horses will be carried
on a case-by-case basis.
MV Isle of Mull is operating between South Uist and Oban today. Tomorrow’s Lochboisdale
service is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice due to sea and wind
conditions.
The Castlebay - Oban service is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice
due to adverse weather.
